Experience Europe’s largest monument! The Monument to the Battle of the Nations in Leipzig not only offers impressive architecture and a great view, but also exciting insights into history – from the Battle of the Nations in 1813 to the present day. Please note: For many visitors, the climb to the viewing platforms represents an unusual physical strain. We ask you to consider before climbing whether you are able to cope with such an effort. If you suffer from a fear of heights or enclosed spaces, we advise against climbing.

April to October 10 AM to 6 PM every day
November to March 10 AM to 4 PM every day
Closing days: Christmas Eve (December 24th) and New Year’s Eve (December 31st)

The Monument to the Battle of the Nations is easily accessible by public transport (tram line 15, trains S1/S2/S3).
There are also plenty of free parking spaces.
Barrier-free access
Access to the park area and the monument is barrier-free for wheelchair users. Elevators take you up to the inner gallery at a height of 47 meters. Wheelchair users can also enjoy the phenomenal panoramic view via glazed windows.
Guidance System for Visually Impaired People
Our Guidance System for Visually Impaired People takes you from the footpath across the park area to the central information point on the foundation level. The routing in the monument is supplemented by information in Braille on the handrails. A 91 centimeter high, scale-appropriate, detailed tactile model helps blind and visually impaired guests explore the monument for the first time. Guide dogs are allowed entry.

Photography, filming and drone flights
Please only take photographs and film in the monument and in the FORUM 1813 museum without flash and without a tripod. Images may only be used for private purposes without consulting the Leipzig Battle of the Nations Monument Foundation. Use for commercial purposes or the provision of the images taken to third parties requires written permission. Please send us an email for this purpose. This also applies to recordings in the park area and in particular to drone flights.
Taking dogs with you
Dogs are allowed in the monument park on a leash. However, only trained assistance dogs are permitted to enter the monument.
Bistro
The bistro and outdoor seating area can be visited daily from April to October from 10 AM to 6 PM and from November to March from 10 AM to 4 PM.
